Mainly centred in Saltburn we have enjoyed many a night in our spiritual home, The Marine, graduating from the more private upstairs to full bar takeover with custom built stage…
The events we put on are all free and have grown in success over the last 7 years to become not to be missed music events in Saltburn. We put on a gig once every 3 -4 months with a variety of music on each night taking in genre’s as diverse as reggae, hip hop, folk, indie, funk, soul drum n bass and electro swing amongst a whole lot more. Each event aims to either raise awareness about different social justice or human rights issues, through petition’s, action cards and just giving out information, to raising money for different charities which support social justice, human rights causes. As well as the gigs at The Marine in Saltburn we have done a number of one off events in Middlesbrough, including two successful nights at Uncle Albert’s, and taking over the top floor of the Empire club to do a joint night with ‘Boro Drum n bass & Dubstep event organizers 4th Bass. Other highlight events have been a festival in Saltburn woods with a full day of live bands and dj’s playing across two stages. And an acoustic picnic also in Saltburn woods with acoustic acts throughout the day and community picnic with food brought down by people who attended.
In the last 3 years we have also expanded to put on monthly film nights upstairs in the marine on the third Thursday of every month. Each month a different documentary is shown with a general social justice, human rights or environmental theme and there is time for discussion about the film after.
Now seems to be a good time to say if you’d like to suggest a cause or you have an act that you’d like to perform at one of our future gigs you should get in touch, by one of the many social media platforms that we’re on or saying that you’re here, our contact page. Either or.
The calendar below not only holds our gig info on but also a selection of events from the 4 People Not Profit Community Network.
